Private pay gives you the option to receive therapy without billing your health insurance plan. You do not have to be uninsured to choose private pay. Some clients choose this option because they want greater flexibility, prefer not to submit therapy claims to insurance, or want to work with a therapist based on fit, specialty, experience, and therapeutic approach rather than insurance network participation.
Private pay may be a good option if you:
Prefer not to use your insurance for mental health services
Want to work with a therapist who is outside your insurance network
Want greater choice in selecting a therapist based on specialty, experience, or therapeutic fit
Are seeking a service that may not be covered by your insurance plan
Have out-of-network benefits that may reimburse a portion of your therapy costs
Want greater flexibility in choosing the services that best meet your needs
Private-pay rates range from $70–$195 for standard services, depending on clinician licensure, experience, specialty, session type, and session length. Specialty or extended services may have additional fees. Your exact fee will be reviewed with you before your first appointment.
HSA/FSA funds may be used for eligible mental health services. When available under Haven's practice policies, superbills may also be provided for clients who wish to seek potential out-of-network reimbursement. Out-of-network reimbursement is not guaranteed and is determined by your individual insurance plan.

Haven of Healing For Youth & Families, LLC is committed to making quality mental health care accessible and transparent. Fees for counseling services may vary depending on the type of service provided, session length, and treatment needs. Please contact our office directly for current rates, consultation options, and scheduling availability.
We may accept select insurance plans and offer private-pay options for clients who prefer self-payment or whose insurance is out of network. Clients are encouraged to verify mental health benefits, coverage details, copays, deductibles, and authorization requirements directly with their insurance provider prior to services.
Payment is due at the time of service unless other arrangements have been made. Accepted forms of payment may include major credit cards, debit cards, HSA/FSA cards, and other approved payment methods.
If you are uninsured or choosing to self-pay, you have the right to request a Good Faith Estimate of expected charges under federal law. Please contact us with any questions regarding fees, insurance participation, billing, or payment options.
