Online Therapy for Anxiety, Trauma, ADHD & Chronic Stress
You may be the person everyone depends on—the one who keeps going, handles what needs to be handled, and appears to have everything together. But internally, you may feel overwhelmed, anxious, exhausted, or constantly on edge. Maybe your mind never seems to shut off. You replay conversations, anticipate what could go wrong, struggle to set boundaries, or feel responsible for keeping everything—and everyone—together.
I help adults and adolescents understand the patterns keeping them stuck, develop practical tools for managing what they're experiencing, and create meaningful changes that extend beyond the therapy session.
Online therapy available in Ohio, Indiana, Vermont, South Carolina, North Carolina, Florida, and Idaho.
You Don’t Have to Keep Pushing Through It
You can be functioning and still be struggling.
You may be used to being the person who handles things. You go to work, take care of your family, meet deadlines, solve problems, and show up for other people—even when you’re running on empty.
From the outside, you may look like you’re doing well. On the inside, it may feel very different.
✓ Overthinking & second-guessing
✓ Always anticipating what could go wrong
✓ Difficulty setting boundaries
✓ Feeling responsible for everyone else
✓ Procrastinating when overwhelmed
✓ Restlessness & difficulty focusing
✓ Overstimulation & emotional exhaustion
✓ Difficulty letting go of past experiences
✓ Feeling like you're always “on”
Understanding the pattern is the first step toward changing it.
Therapy can help you make sense of why these patterns developed, recognize what keeps them going, and learn different ways of responding—without expecting you to “try harder.”
How I Can Help
Practical, individualized therapy to help you understand what’s happening and what to do next.
Anxiety & Overthinking
When your mind is constantly anticipating what could go wrong, even ordinary decisions can feel exhausting. Anxiety may show up as overthinking, second-guessing, difficulty relaxing, physical tension, or feeling like you always need to be prepared.
Together, we’ll work on recognizing anxious patterns, understanding your triggers, tolerating uncertainty, and developing strategies that help you respond differently when anxiety takes over.
Trauma & PTSD
Past experiences can continue affecting how you feel, react, and connect with others long after the experience itself has ended. You may feel constantly on guard, avoid certain situations, struggle with trust, or have reactions that feel difficult to control.
Trauma therapy is not about forcing you to relive painful experiences. We’ll work at a pace that feels manageable while building safety, understanding trauma responses, and reducing the impact past experiences continue to have on your present.
ADHD & Executive Functioning
ADHD affects much more than attention. You may struggle to get started, lose track of time, procrastinate until something becomes urgent, become overwhelmed by multi-step tasks, or wonder why knowing what you need to do doesn’t make doing it any easier.
We’ll work on understanding how your brain functions and developing realistic strategies for organization, planning, prioritizing, emotional regulation, and follow-through.
Chronic Stress & Burnout
Sometimes it isn’t one major problem—it’s everything happening at once. Work, relationships, parenting, responsibilities, expectations, and other people’s needs can leave you feeling like there’s nothing left for you.
We’ll identify what’s draining you, strengthen boundaries, improve emotional regulation, and develop healthier ways of managing demands without turning self-care into one more thing on your to-do list.
Therapy isn’t about becoming someone different. It’s about understanding yourself better and developing tools that work in your actual life.
What Therapy With Me Is Like
I don’t believe therapy should feel like you’re talking for an hour while someone occasionally nods and asks, “How does that make you feel?”
My style is active, collaborative, practical, and straightforward. We’ll talk about what’s happening in your life, but we’ll also work to understand why certain patterns keep showing up and what you can begin doing differently. You can expect me to listen and validate what you’re experiencing while also asking questions, offering another perspective, teaching skills, and respectfully challenging patterns that may be keeping you stuck.
And therapy doesn’t have to feel serious every minute. There’s room for humor, personality, and real conversation alongside the harder work.
ACTIVE & ENGAGED
I’ll participate in the conversation—not just listen.
Supportive doesn’t have to mean passive.
PRACTICAL
We’ll develop strategies you can actually use between sessions.
INDIVIDUALIZED
Therapy is adapted to you—not the other way around.
HONEST & COLLABORATIVE
We’ll talk openly about what’s working, what isn’t, and where you want to go next.
FUN
Therapy can be hard work, but it doesn’t have to feel heavy all the time. There’s room to laugh, be yourself, and enjoy the process along the way.
The goal isn’t perfection. It’s helping you understand yourself better, respond more intentionally, and build skills that work outside of therapy.
My Approach to Therapy
I don’t believe you should have to fit into one specific type of therapy. We’re all different, and therapy should reflect that. I draw from different evidence-based approaches based on your experiences, goals, strengths, challenges, and what we discover works best for you.
KNOWLEDGE IS POWER
Understanding yourself can make change feel a lot less overwhelming.
I believe therapy is easier when you understand what is happening, why it is happening, and what you can do about it.
Psychoeducation is an intentional part of my work. When we discuss a concept or learn a new skill, I provide handouts and resources you can refer back to outside of therapy.
It’s eclectic —because one size doesn’t fit all.
THERAPY THAT FITS HOW YOU LEARN
There’s more than one way to understand something.
Some people need to see it. Some need to read it. Others need to talk it through, write it down, practice it, or experience it before it clicks.
We'll figure out what works best for you and adapt how we approach therapy accordingly. I want the information we discuss to be presented in a way that actually makes sense to you.
There’s no reason to make this journey harder than it needs to be.
COLLECTING DATA
Because we should know whether what we're doing is actually working.
Yes, I may give you ‘homework’—but I prefer to think of it as collecting data.
I may ask you to try a strategy, practice a skill, track a pattern, or simply notice what happens between sessions. Then we bring that information back into therapy and look at it together.
What worked? What didn't? What got in the way? What did you notice?
If something is helping, we build on it. If it isn't, we adjust the treatment.
The goal isn't to get an “A” on therapy homework. The goal is to figure out what actually works for you.
APPROACHES I MAY DRAW FROM
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) • Trauma-Informed Therapy • DBT-Informed Skills • Solution-Focused Therapy • Psychoeducation
The specific approaches we use may change as your needs change. I'll explain what we're doing, why we're doing it, and how it connects to your treatment goals.
You don’t need to fit the therapy. The therapy needs to fit you.
About Maggie
Experience matters. So does human connection and feeling like you’re talking to a real person.
I’m Maggie French, MSW, LISW-S, LCSW, LICDC, CCTP, a clinical social worker and trauma-informed therapist with more than 14 years of experience in behavioral health. My educational background includes graduate degrees in Social Work and Criminal Behavior, giving me a multidisciplinary foundation for understanding human behavior, mental health, trauma, relationships, and the complex systems that can influence our lives.
Throughout my career, I’ve worked with adolescents, adults, children and families navigating anxiety, trauma, ADHD, depression, emotional and behavioral concerns, relationship and family stress, substance use and complex life circumstances.
My experience has taught me that understanding why something is happening is important—but insight alone isn’t always enough. Therapy should also help you figure out what to do with that understanding.
That’s why my work combines education, practical strategies, skill development, evidence-based interventions, and honest conversation. I want you to leave therapy knowing more about yourself and feeling better equipped to handle what happens outside of our sessions.

You don't have to have everything figured out before starting therapy.
You may know exactly what you want to work on, or you may simply know that something needs to change. Either place is okay to start.
If you think we may be a good fit, you can schedule an appointment with me. If you're not sure which Haven therapist would be the best match, we'll help you figure that out too.
